Microsoft Once Again Recognizes Latham as Most Innovative for Diversity

Firm honored for second consecutive year in tech giant’s Law Firm Diversity Program.

Through its annual Law Firm Diversity Program (LFDP), which aims to “help increase diversity in the legal profession,” Microsoft has named Latham & Watkins the fiscal year 2020 winner of its Most Innovative award. Latham received the inaugural Most Innovative in diversity in 2019. By a vote of Latham’s peers in the Microsoft Strategic Partner Program, the firm earned this recognition for its innovative and impactful diversity and inclusion programs, including the recent firmwide Inclusion Initiative.

Latham’s diversity and inclusion initiatives continue to evolve and include:

  • Award-winning Diversity Leadership and Women’s Leadership Academies that empower future and current leaders in the legal profession, foster professional networking opportunities, and facilitate mentoring relationships and community building
  • Two new speakers series launched to support the firm’s commitment to advancing justice and equality by sustaining focus on various facets of diversity, inclusion, and belonging, as well as a providing a deeper examination of the history of systemic racism and inequality
  • Firmwide global allyship initiative that equips Latham colleagues with the tools and information necessary to be better allies for one another
  • Nine lawyer affinity groups, which are associate-led and count more than 1,800 members around the globe
