London Partner Kem Ihenacho Named Lawyer of the Year at UK Diversity Legal Awards

London corporate partner Kem Ihenacho has been named Lawyer of the Year at the 2021 UK Diversity Legal Awards. The annual award programme, led by the Black Solicitors Network, celebrates excellence in promoting all aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the legal profession, including gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, and social mobility.

Ihenacho won praise for leading the firm’s global DEI strategy in his role as Global Chair of Latham’s Diversity Leadership Committee, and for mentoring and supporting Black lawyers to improve diversity in the legal profession. He was also credited with advising clients on a variety of complex, cross-border private equity, infrastructure, and M&A transactions.

London corporate associate Warren Wellington was also Highly Commended in the Rising Star category. Wellington was recognized for steering a variety of initiatives supporting the recruitment, retention, and promotion of Black lawyers, and for advising on a number of significant M&A transactions.
