Latham & Watkins Advises Denham Capital in Formation of $550 Million Mining Fund

Deal was led by a Washington, D.C.-based investment funds team.

Denham Capital, a leading resources and energy-focused global private equity firm, has announced that it has closed its first stand-alone mining fund, the Denham Mining Fund, at $558 million to expand its portfolio in Australia, Canada, South America and Africa. The closing of the Mining Fund brings the amount of invested and committed capital under Denham Capital’s management to approximately $9.8 billion.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Denham Capital in the transaction with an investment funds team led by partner Barton Clark and associates Amy Rigdon and Chasmin Brooks. Partner Cheryl Coe and associate Sean Fitzgerald advised on tax matters. All lawyers are based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
