Latham Named European Competition/Antitrust Team of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been recognized as European Competition/Antitrust Team of the Year at The Lawyer European Awards 2020. The firm also received Highly Commended rankings in the Finance and Real Estate Team of the Year categories. 

The Lawyer honored Latham’s Antitrust & Competition Practice for successfully representing the Alliance de la Presse d’Information Générale (APIG) before the French Competition Authority in abuse of dominance proceedings against Google. The Latham team was led by Paris partners Jacques-Philippe Gunther and Adrien Giraud, with Brussels associate Jean-Baptiste Douchy and Paris associates Juliette Raffaitin and Julien Morize.

Latham’s Finance and Real Estate teams received Highly Commended rankings for advising on the €1.8 billion provision of a credit line for TUI Group by German state-owned development bank KfW, and the €3.4 billion majority acquisition of the Spanish bank Banco Sabadell, respectively. The Lawyer also shortlisted Latham for Global Law Firm of the Year in Europe, Law Firm of the Year in Germany and France, and Team of the Year for Corporate and Litigation.
