XLHealth Corporation, a sponsor of Medicare Advantage health plans with a primary focus on Medicare recipients with special needs, such as those with chronic illness and those also eligible for Medicaid, has announced it will be acquired by UnitedHealthcare. The acquisition is expected to close during the first half of 2012. Working with XLHealth’s Chief Legal Officer, Daniel J. Friedman, Latham & Watkins LLP advised XLHealth in the transaction with a deal team led by New York corporate partner John Giouroukakis and associates Thomas Malone, Melissa Baumgartner, Mark Woods and Emily Rosenblum.
