Latham Advises RTP Global on Stakester’s US$2 Million Seed Round

London team represents early-stage VC fund on its investment in e-gaming and e-sports platform.

Latham & Watkins advised RTP Global, an early-stage VC fund, on its lead investment in Stakester’s US$2 million seed fundraising round. Stakester provides an e-gaming and e-sports platform whereby players compete with each other by playing sports and skill based video games.

Launched in May 2020, Stakester’s mobile apps have attracted some 15,000 players of games such as FIFA 21, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and NBA 2K21. The startup already operates in the US, Singapore and the UK, and is planning to expand into Australia and Germany.

The Latham team was led by London corporate partner Shing Lo, with associate Samantha Peacock.
