Former Associate Counsel to President Obama Rejoins Latham & Watkins

Daniel Dominguez brings a wealth of policy and compliance experience to firm.

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel Dominguez has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as counsel in the White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice Group in the firm’s Litigation Department. Dominguez joins Latham following two and a half years as Associate Counsel to President Barack Obama in the Office of the White House Counsel. In this role, Dominguez provided strategic legal guidance to the White House Counsel and senior advisors on a wide range of legal and policy issues, including compliance matters and matters related to congressional oversight and investigations. Mr. Dominguez counseled several federal agency clients and worked with clients to develop strategies in response to congressional investigations.

Prior to his government service, Dominguez served as an associate at Latham in the White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice. He represented clients in several enforcement actions, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations and sanctions violations investigations. Mr. Dominguez counseled clients relating to their internal FCPA policies and procedures, helped clients design and implement effective systems of internal controls and provided training to clients on FCPA compliance. Mr. Dominguez also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations in Spanish and counseling clients throughout Latin America. 
Dominguez joins a practice that has been at the forefront of white collar defense, representing clients in bet-the-company government investigations and cases. He also adds to the list of experienced White Collar Defense & Investigations lawyers who have joined the firm from the government in the past two years, including Kathy Ruemmler, Kevin Chambers, Benjamin NaftalisJohn Sikora and Jonathan Su.

Dominguez earned his JD, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School.
