Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly
Charles Sanders honored, highlighting his leadership, recent litigation and trial victories, and pro bono work.

Charles Sanders, Boston Litigation and Trial partner and member of the Intellectual Property Litigation practice, has been recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for his work as a “top intellectual property lawyer across the commonwealth.” This award was given to lawyers who are considered leaders in their field, viewed as experts by their peers, and innovative thinkers who present their clients with creative options.

As a first chair trial lawyer, Sanders represents clients across a range of technologies in a variety of venues including federal district court, the International Trade Commission (ITC), the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the Federal Circuit obtaining clients multi-million dollar settlements, ITC exclusion orders, summary judgments, and trial victories. His published profile highlights his technical knowledge and broad litigation and trial experience, including a recent defense of Waltham-based digital health company InfoBionic in a patent dispute against cardio telemetry company CardioNet. Sanders and the Latham team convinced the court to invalidate five of the six patents at issue, dismiss trade secrets claims, and grant summary judgment of non-infringement on the remaining patent. He and the Latham team also represented InfoBionic at the PTAB in related inter partes review (IPR) petitions and at the Federal Circuit, which affirmed PTAB and court decisions in InfoBionic’s favor.

Sanders was also recognized for his efforts providing pro bono legal services to Project Citizenship, an organization that helps eligible immigrants become US citizens, and serving as the founding Chair of its Board of Directors. The lawyers selected for this award were nominated by their colleagues and chosen by a panel from Lawyers Weekly.
