Latham Assisted Coalfire in Securing CFIUS Clearance

CFIUS concluded that there were no unresolved national security issues with respect to Coalfire’s acquisition by funds advised by Apax Partners.

Coalfire, a provider of cybersecurity advisory and assessment services majority owned by The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and The Chertoff Group, received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in connection with its acquisition by funds advised by Apax Partners. CFIUS concluded that there were no unresolved national security issues with respect to the transaction.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Coalfire and The Carlyle Group in the transaction and advised the company on the CFIUS clearance process. The CFIUS team was led by Washington, D.C. partner Les Carnegie and counsel Rachel Alpert, with associate Allison Hugi.
