SIFMA Compliance & Legal Society Monthy Luncheon

Gregory Garre, partner in the Washington, D.C. office and Global Chair of Latham's Supreme Court & Appellate Practice, will discuss the Supreme Court's recent ruling in the Fisher v. UT Austin affirmative action case.

Mr. Garre will share his experience arguing the constitutionality of UT Austin's race-conscious undergraduate admissions policy before the Supreme Court and the years of litigation and preparation that led up to the Court's decision. He will also address how this important ruling reaffirms that universities have a compelling interest in seeing the educational benefits of a broadly diverse student body.
