Shagufa Hossain, Local Co-Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Washington, D.C., Corporate Department, represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies, investment banks, and public and private companies in debt and equity financing and other transactions.

Ms. Hossain closely collaborates across Latham’s robust platform to meet clients’ most pressing demands. She works with the National Office to facilitate deals amid an evolving securities regulatory environment. Ms. Hossain also partners with the M&A and Bank Finance teams to seamlessly execute clients’ transactions.
Ms. Hossain was previously seconded to the firm’s Hong Kong office where she represented foreign private issuers in a number of equity and debt offerings.
She maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing juveniles in special immigrant juvenile status cases through KIND.
Prior to law school, Ms. Hossain was an analyst in the London office of an international investment bank. She previously served on Latham's Recruiting Committee and as a local leader of the Asian and Middle Eastern Lawyers Group.
