Robert E. Currie

Robert E. Currie, the former Managing Partner of the firm's Orange County office, retired from Partnership on December 31, 2002. A member of the firm since 1967, Mr. Currie was one of the most experienced trial lawyers in the firm having represented a broad range of clients from local developers to national corporations in both state and federal courts across the nation. He has handled lawsuits of many types and focuses on complex litigation matters, including antitrust, securities actions, dealer termination and franchise actions (formerly national trial counsel for a major franchisor), real property disputes (The Irvine Company Residential Leasehold Litigation), and shareholder dissolution actions (Hoiles v. Freedom Newspapers, Inc.), to name a few.  He was experienced in both state and federal courts (both jury and non-jury) and with various alternative dispute resolution procedures including AAA and ICC arbitration.

Mr. Currie is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a former Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council, a member of the Litigation and Antitrust Law Sections of the American Bar Association and a member of the California and Orange County Bar Associations. He is also a former Director of the Orange County Constitutional Rights Foundation, founding member of the Board of Governors of Amicus Publico, and past founding member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.  He is a director of the Orange County Bar Foundation and has previously served as a member of the Board of the Orange County Bar Association and Commissioner of the State Bar Legal Services Trust Fund. He is the past Southern California Chairman of the United States Supreme Court Historical Society. 

Mr. Currie has taught numerous seminars for various clients, the Orange County Bar Association and California Continuing Education of the Bar, specifically concerning antitrust issues, handling complex cases, trial practice and federal court procedures. Mr. Currie holds the rank of Captain, US Naval Reserves (Ret) and served as a Naval Aviator and a Naval Intelligence Officer.
