Raj Patel is an associate in the Litigation & Trial Department of Latham & Watkins’ Chicago office.

Mr. Patel’s practice focuses on patent litigation, in particular electrical, electro-mechanical, computer, and software technologies.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Patel worked at a large international law firm where his practice focused on patent procurement and counseling, both domestically and internationally, with an emphasis on IoT systems, power systems, communication systems, hardware circuits, mobile payment systems, digital signal processing, and software applications.

Before law school, Mr. Patel was a senior engineer at a global engineering firm, performing design analysis in a variety of technical areas, including telecommunication equipment, motor-operated appliances, software controls, lighting systems, electric fence controllers, trash compactors, pressure washing systems, and GPS devices.

While attending law school, Mr. Patel was a member of the Iowa Law Review and vice president of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
