Lachlan Ferguson is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department. Mr. Ferguson’s practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, equity capital markets, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Ferguson was an associate in the corporate department of a large international law firm, where he spent time on secondment at Barclays Investment Bank.

Mr. Ferguson’s experience includes advising:

  • A leading consumer goods company on its £6.5 billion sale of its food products business*
  • A leading consumer goods company on the merits of a share cancellation in relation to a subsidiary incorporated for trust purposes in 1925*
  • An American manufacturing company on its US$5.2 billion acquisition of a German industrial company*
  • A state-run financial management entity on its £292 million acquisition of a further shareholding in a British utility company pursuant to a ROFO process*
  • A leading consumer goods company in relation to its corporate reorganization program following a failed £115 billion takeover bid by an American food company*
  • A state-run financial management entity and an Australian superannuation fund on their US$310 million disposal of an aggregate 35% membership interest in a global logistics solutions provider*
