The UK is currently in the process of reviewing and updating its primary markets rules, with a view to ensuring that the UK remains one of the most attractive international destinations for equity listings.

As part of this, the FCA is proposing to create a single listing segment for equity shares in commercial companies, replacing the existing premium and standard listing segments. The government and the FCA are also working on a new regime for public offers and admission to trading on UK regulated markets, to replace the existing prospectus regime.

Another key area of focus is the rise in importance of ESG and, in particular, climate-related disclosures by listed issuers.
