Latham Named “Privacy Group of the Year”

January 17, 2014

Recognizing a banner year that included several client victories, Law360 named Latham as “Privacy Group of the Year.”

As increased threats to companies data occur, Latham has been on the forefront providing rapid and discrete legal guidance. Law360 highlights Latham’s work for Delta Air Lines in which the team used a theory of federal preemption to win dismissal of an “unprecedented” lawsuit brought by California's attorney general under the California Online Privacy Protection Act. The team also helped multiple global enterprises respond quickly to major cyber-attacks or incidents.

Law360 notes that the Latham team has “become so well-versed in the emerging — and not always well-understood — realm of cross-border privacy threat response that they are actively sought by corporate officers wanting guidance on the latest legal thinking.”
