Latham & Watkins Advises on Global Competition Review’s "Matter of the Year"

Global Competition Review

February 11, 2011

Global Competition Review has selected the Oracle/Sun merger as its “Matter of the Year,” recognizing Latham for its role advising Oracle on the deal. Latham partnered with Oracle’s in-house team and others in successfully steering the $7.3 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems through US and international merger reviews. Latham was also a finalist in the same category for its representation of Live Nation in its high profile merger with Ticketmaster, and in the Antitrust Lawyer of the Year category for partner Al Pfeiffer’s trial victory over the FTC in FTC v. Ovation Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GCR commented: “More than 1,500 antitrust counsel, economists and academics took the time to vote in the GCR Awards, meaning the winners are truly the best of the best.”
