New York Partner Antonio Del Pino has been recognized as a 2021 Latino Leader Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal. The inaugural award recognizes 38 leaders in law and industry who have “blazed new trails, welcomed challenges, mentored others, advanced diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the community, and excelled in their chosen fields.” Del Pino has been profiled in a recent issue of the publication.
Del Pino, a partner in the Corporate Department and Global Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Latin America Practice, advises companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions on cross-border transactions involving Latin America and the US. He combines keen market insights with bilingual language skills to handle matters across industries, particularly in the infrastructure, energy, and financial services sectors. Del Pino has also represented more than half a dozen governments in Latin America and Africa in the privatization and concession of infrastructure assets.
Del Pino’s leadership has contributed immeasurably to the emergence of Latham’s Latin America Practice as an industry powerhouse, widely commended for the team’s deep understanding of regional frameworks and cultures. Of nearly 60 practice lawyers, 13 have been ranked as rising stars or leading practitioners by organizations like The Legal 500, Chambers, and Latinvex.
In his role as partner advisor to Latham’s Hispanic/Latin American Lawyers Group, Del Pino interacts with Latham associates around the globe, providing input on programming and specific advice on associates’ progression and career paths at Latham. He previously served on Latham’s Pro Bono Committee for over a decade, and regularly advises on pro bono matters, including representing Acción International (a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a financially inclusive world) in connection with multiple investments in microfinance institutions around the globe.
