Chicago

Latham’s Chicago office has grown steadily over the past four decades to become one of the Midwest’s largest and most widely respected law offices.

Office Overview

Connecting seamlessly with the resources and reach of Latham’s global platform, we rank among the region’s elite firms, with a full offering of finance, corporate, private equity, M&A, capital markets, healthcare, renewable energy, restructuring, IP, litigation, real estate, and tax practices. We connect global investors and multinationals with opportunities in the Midwest, and sophisticated local clients, from Chicago-based startups to established companies and investors, with opportunities around the globe.

Giving Back

Pro bono and community service are fundamental parts of our culture, including in Chicago, where we support local entrepreneurs as an active member of the 1871 nonprofit startup incubator; fight to overturn unfair prison sentences and help those released from prison reenter society; advocate for local asylum seekers; support tenant rights; and help meet the legal needs of fellow Chicagoans through our longstanding relationship with the Equal Justice Works public interest fellowship.

Pro Bono & Public Service

Supporting a number of organizations and causes, the Chicago office's dedication to pro bono work reflects a fundamental part of the firm’s culture. Notably, the office created a pro bono program with the City of Chicago and Domestic Violence Legal Clinic more than five years ago. The concept was adopted by Cook County as its model for a court-organized clinic.

The “Do the Write Thing Chicago Challenge,” an annual program driven by the National Campaign to Stop Violence, involving the Chicago public and Catholic school system is also chaired by Latham’s Chicago office.

Latham’s Chicago office has served global clients based or operating in the Midwest for 40 years.
