Stijn van Osch is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firm’s Environment, Land & Resources Department.

Mr. van Osch previously served as a member of the firm's local Pro Bono Committee. His practice focuses on environmental regulatory law, natural resources litigation, and product stewardship matters. He has provided regulatory advice to clients on a wide variety of topics arising under TSCA, FIFRA, CAA, CWA, RCRA, REACH, OSHA, CPSA, and federal hazardous materials transportation law. He provides compliance counseling on the application of regulations to clients’ products and operations, has commented on rulemakings, and has provided advice relating to agencies such as EPA, OSHA, DOT, and CPSC. For example, he has provided analysis and advocacy on a complex TSCA nomenclature issue regarding a substance of critical importance to a major consumer products manufacturer. He also has experience in large litigation matters, including participating in international tobacco litigation and interstate water rights disputes.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. van Osch clerked for Judge Stephen H. Glickman of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Mr. van Osch received his JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and received the Henry M. Bates Memorial Scholarship. During his time at law school, Mr. van Osch served as the managing editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law and authored a Note. He received his bachelor’s degree and Master of Laws at Utrecht University in his native country the Netherlands, where he served as a member of the editorial board of the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law.
