Profile

Dr. Ulrich Wuermeling advises clients on European, UK, and German data privacy law, both in terms of compliance and disputes. With more than 25 years of experience, he has been recognized as a Senior Statesperson for data protection.

Mr. Wuermeling advises high-profile technology companies, as well as direct marketing, healthcare, and financial services organizations on data privacy best practices. He also represents clients in complex — often precedent-setting — litigation, both in administrative proceedings with supervisory authorities and in court proceedings up to the higher courts in Germany.

As a leading professional and academic voice regarding European data privacy law, Mr. Wuermeling teaches and researches as Visiting Professor at Queen Mary University in London and Paris. He chairs Euroforum’s annual German and European Data Protection Conference in Berlin and regularly speaks and publishes on data privacy matters. He is also co-editor of Latham’s Global Privacy & Security Compliance Law Blog (www.globalprivacyblog.com).
