Susanne Zuehlke is a partner in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's global Antitrust and Competition Practice. Ms. Zuehlke has been practicing competition and trade law in Brussels, Berlin and Frankfurt since 1999.

Ms. Zuehlke represents clients in a wide range of industries, including in particular, chemicals, computers, IT systems and applications, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. She advises clients on all aspects of global, EU and German antitrust law.

Her expertise includes:

  • Representation in merger control proceedings before the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office, as well as the coordination of the global review
  • Cartel defense, including response to dawn raids, strategic analysis of available defense options, fact finding and defense before global authorities
  • Design and implementation of antitrust compliance programs
  • Advice on the antitrust rules applying to commercial agreements
  • Advice on cartel damages claims

Ms. Zuehlke also advises clients on all aspects of EU State aid law as well as the application of the EU trade laws (anti-dumping/anti-subsidy rules). She represents clients in appeals brought in the European Courts in Luxembourg.

She frequently publishes articles and presents at conferences on issues of EU competition law. Ms. Zuehlke is a member of the American Bar Association and the German-American Lawyers Association.

Ms. Zuehlke has been recognized as leading lawyer in her field by several publications, includung Chambers and Global Competition Review's Who's Who Legal. Global Competition Review has named her twice to its prestigious “40 under 40” list of the top 40 global competition lawyers under the age of 40 (2008 and 2012).
