Steven Betensky is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Betensky is a member of the Corporate Department where his practice concentrates on technology, trademark and other intellectual property transactions.

Mr. Betensky has particular experience in drafting and negotiating trademark and patent licensing agreements and technology transfers, arising out of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, project financings and privatizations. He also works on information technology related acquisitions, outsourcing arrangements and similar transactions, particularly on behalf of regulated financial institutions.  In addition to counseling in non-contentious matters, Mr. Betensky has litigated in patent, trademark, unfair competition and theft of trade secret actions.

Mr. Betensky frequently represents chemical, semiconductor and life sciences companies in connection with joint research and development arrangements and global commercialization and co-promotion agreements for new products, as well as representing global clients in structuring and negotiating cross-border technology and trademark agreements arising out of mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.

Most recently, Mr. Betensky has been involved in numerous representations of various oil companies, technology providers and lenders in connection with development of major refining and petrochemical projects in the Middle East, North Africa and China.
