Justin Cornish is counsel in the Outsourcing and Technology Transactions practice in the firm’s Dubai office. His practice covers a full range of technology, intellectual property, media and commercial law matters, including complex information technology and business process outsourcing projects, complex system integration and transformation projects, telecoms and hosting arrangements, broadcast technology agreements, and application maintenance and development. Justin also has experience advising on information technology, intellectual property and separation issues arising in M&A transactions, data protection, entertainment law and telecommunications regulation.

Mr. Cornish has provided legal advice to financial institutions and corporates across a wide range of industry sectors including consumer goods, food and beverages, media and entertainment, retail, telecommunications and pharmaceutical. He has also advised multi-national companies on matters involving activities outside of the UK and has spent a significant amount of time acting for clients with interests in South Africa.

  • A UK retail bank on an outsourcing transaction to acquire one of the largest implementations of an IP-enabled voice and data network
  • A South African retail bank in its acquisition of a new MPLS network for all of its head offices, branches and remote ATMs
  • A UK retail bank on the business process outsourcing of its insurance policy sales and claims handling processes
  • A fixed-line telecommunications operator in South Africa on the outsourcing of its network build, operate and management functions, involving significant scope and complexity
  • A number of clients on the off-shoring of application development and maintenance
  • A global consumer goods company on the procurement, implementation and maintenance of its technology platform for brand website
  • Various broadcasting and new media companies on all aspects of media technology and content procurement and exploitation
  • A global pharmaceutical retailer on the renegotiation of its significant full scale IT and telecommunications outsourcing including data centre, desktop, ADM and telecommunications towers
