Bruce Prager retired from the partnership in June 2013. Mr. Prager was a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. He was a member of the Litigation Department, the Antitrust & Competition Practice and various industry groups. Mr. Prager served as Co-chair of the firm's global Antitrust and Competition Practice Group for more than five years.
Mr. Prager’s practice encompassed broad international antitrust counseling and litigation, with a concentration on M&A and joint venture antitrust issues, including premerger requirements of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
Mr. Prager advised clients and litigates on a broad range of antitrust matters, including Sherman Act conspiracies, monopolizations, refusals to deal, noncompete provisions and Robinson-Patman pricing issues. He is an author and active speaker on a broad range of antitrust topics.
Mr. Prager successfully defended parties against federal court challenges by the US Antitrust Enforcement Agencies and private parties in connection with investments and proposed merger transactions. He also represented parties in connection with investigations of dozens of national and multinational acquisitions and joint venture transactions.
Mr. Prager is past chair of the Executive Committee of the Antitrust Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the NYSBA House of Delegates and is Chair of the Section Delegates Caucus. Mr. Prager held numerous leadership positions in the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association. He has served multiple terms as a member of the Antitrust Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
Mr. Prager oversaw the firm’s involvement through the pro bono efforts of hundreds of our lawyers with Bet Tzedek, The House of Justice, in representing holocaust survivors in obtaining reparations from the German government and work on other pro bono projects for the firm.
