Sean Finn is a partner in Latham & Watkins' London office, and he advises a wide range of clients on all aspects of corporate, finance and business taxation. He acts for a broad range of well-known companies across a number of industrial and financial sectors and has particular expertise in advising on tax aspects of private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, reconstructions, joint ventures, reorganizations, financings, refinancings, restructurings and workouts.

Mr. Finn is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Mr. Finn's representative matters include advising:

  • Mezzanine lenders with respect to the restructuring of the British Vita group.
  • Qatar Holding LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority) on its acquisition of approximately 6% of Barclays plc for £1.45 billion and its further investment for £1.75 billion.
  • Qatar Holding LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority) on its acquisition of the Harrods Group in May 2010.
  • The Carlyle Group and Hellman & Friedman on its acquisition of Pharmaceutical Product Development Inc. (a leading global contract research organisation).
  • The Carlyle Group on its acquisition of the business of Brintons Carpets.
