Kenneth M. Poovey retired from Partnership on March 31, 1997. As a partner of Latham & Watkins and a former partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Mr. Poovey, who has twice been listed in The American Lawyer's "The Best Lawyers in America," has engaged in an extensive corporate practice with a major emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, workouts and restructuring, and has served as an expert witness in the securities area. Mr. Poovey transferred from Latham & Watkins' San Diego office to help start up the new San Francisco office where he was a Senior Corporate Partner.
Mr. Poovey's high-tech background began when he worked for the IBM Corporation for approximately eight years. During that time he was involved in the design phase of IBM's System 360. In addition, Mr. Poovey served as a consultant for the computerization program for NASA's Apollo project.
