Kai Schneider is a partner in the Dubai office of Latham & Watkins and head of the Investment Funds Practice in the Middle East and Africa.
His practice focuses on investment funds, joint ventures and private equity. Mr. Schneider has extensive experience advising clients on the formation of and investment in a wide variety of Shari’ah-compliant and conventional private investment funds, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, buyout funds, mezzanine funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, distressed asset funds, funds-of-funds, secondaries and other industry and geographic specific funds. He regularly advises sponsors on accessing the US market as well as on regional licensing and securities laws. In addition, he counsels clients on complex cross border acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Mr. Schneider is the Chair of the Regulatory Committee of the Gulf Bond and Sukuk Association. He is ranked in the 2011 and 2012 editions of The Legal 500 and Chambers Global as an up and coming partner and recognized for his investment funds expertise, with Chambers Global stating that he is "efficient, reliable, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with."
