Dr. Jörg Kirchner is a Vice Chair of Latham & Watkins’ global Corporate Department and was the Office Managing Partner of the firm’s Munich office for five years since its opening in 2005. Before joining Latham, he was practicing at a German media company and at law firms in Germany and Washington, D.C. At Latham, he advises clients on private equity and M&A matters, handling both cross-border and national transactions, including LBOs, minority investments, joint ventures and carve-outs.

The Legal 500 EMEA 2013 lists him as recommended lawyer for Private Equity. In JUVE 2012/2013, the leading German law firm directory, he is named as one of the best known private equity lawyers and a “leading name in private equity”. His M&A practice is recommended. In Chambers Europe 2012, Mr. Kirchner's private equity practice is ranked in Tier 1 in Germany. He has just been named one of the “Lawyers of the Year 2012” for Private Equity in Germany by Best Lawyers in cooperation with Handelsblatt. Furthermore, he was recommended as one of the ”best lawyers for mergers and acquisitions in Germany” in the German weekly WirtschaftsWoche dated 10 September 2010.
