    Shoumick Hasan is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins.

    Shoumick advises private and public companies, private equity funds, boards of directors, and strategic investors on a wide range of transactions and governance matters in a broad cross-section of industries, including media and entertainment, sports, technology, consumer retail, and industrials.

    He earned his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and was a member of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society. He also obtained with distinction a MSc from the London School of Economics in Economic History.

    Prior to Latham, Shoumick worked at one of the leading international law firms based in New York.

    • Walt Disney Corporation in its activism defense against shareholder Dan Loeb’s Third Point Capital*
    • WiseTech Global in its acquisitions of Envase Technologies and Blume Global*
    • Vista Outdoor in its sale of its ammunition business to Czechoslovakia Group a.s. for US$2.15 billion and its sale of its Revelyst outdoor clothing business to Strategic Value Partners for US$1.125 billion*
    • Martin Marietta in its carve-out of its West Coast cement business to Unacem for US$317 million*
    • IBM in its acquisition of Polar Security, a cloud security provider*
    • Bacardi Group on ongoing corporate governance matters*
    • Walt Disney Corporation regarding streaming rights of its various sports properties*
