Mr. Steinberg is a partner resident in both the Los Angeles and Silicon Valley offices of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Litigation Department. He is also the firm's Global Chair of the Intellectual Property practice group and his practice focuses primarily on disputes involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights and DMCA matters. Mr. Steinberg has represented start-up companies, emerging and middle market companies, major international corporations, and entertainment studios including companies such as Adobe, Broadcom, Chevron, Disney, Sony, Symantec and Yahoo!. He is also a registered patent attorney.
Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Steinberg worked as the Chairman and CEO of xSides Corporation, a developer of desktop security software. He also spent 11 years at Irell & Manella, LLP, where he was an IP partner and member of the Executive Committee. He currently serves as a board member to The Starlight Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the pain and suffering of seriously ill children through the use of pediatric, healthcare, entertainment and technology.
