With 160 lawyers, our ability to field a team of the highest quality in a number of jurisdictions has led to our involvement in some of the largest and most complex cross-border deals and cases, many of which have been recognized as market-leading.

The London office represents investment banks, financial institutions, private equity houses, corporates, governments and other organizations - both in the UK and throughout the world.

Practice Areas

The London office has leading practices in capital markets, restructuring and insolvency, M&A and private equity, venture capital and investment funds, project finance, banking and leveraged finance, structured finance, EU and competition law, environmental law, international arbitration, litigation, international dispute resolution and public international law, international trade law, technology transactions and outsourcing, intellectual property, employment, real estate and tax. The firm's Scandinavia practice is led out of the London office and lawyers in London also support the Milan office with an Italian practice.

Many of our practices have garnered awards from a wide variety of publications. In February 2007 the firm was awarded 'Law Firm of the Decade' by leading legal publication, Legal Business; at the same time garnering the award for Project Finance Team of the Year. Also in 2007, the firm won Restructuring deal of the Year awarded by IFLR.

The London office has regularly received impressive rankings in the Legal 500 and Chambers legal directories. Legal 500 ranked the firm in the top tier of its "Corporate Foreign Law Firms in London."

Community Ties

The London office continues to provide pro bono advice to various individuals and organizations amounting (in 2006) to more than 4,000 hours of free legal services and averaging more than 33 hours of pro bono per lawyer. While participation in the firm's pro bono program is not mandatory, all firm personnel are strongly encouraged to participate in pro bono matters to the extent their skills can be utilized to serve the interests of our pro bono clients. Time spent on pro bono matters is credited to lawyers and paralegals to the same extent time is credited for any other client matter.

As the London office continues to grow, so too does its commitment to pro bono and community service, providing much-needed support to the community. Recent examples of projects in the community include:
