Since opening in 1980 with four attorneys, Latham & Watkins' San Diego office has grown into one of the city's largest law offices with more than 100 lawyers practicing in two San Diego County locations – Downtown and Del Mar. Our growing presence enables our San Diego attorneys to play a vital role in the firm's ability to represent homegrown San Diego companies as well as multinational companies.

Community Ties
The San Diego offices have a long history of public service and continue to expand our relationships with local industry, trade, and charitable organizations, identifying and responding to community needs, as well as participate in projects important to California, the US and the international community. Our San Diego offices handle all manner of pro bono work, including providing transactional advice to local organizations such as CleanTECH San Diego; regularly handling appeals referred by the Ninth Circuit's Pro Bono Program; and representing a significant number of clients referred by public-service organizations such as Casa Cornelia, Federal Defenders, and the ABA's Immigration Justice Project. San Diego attorneys logged more than 10,000 hours to pro bono matters in 2008, with nearly 100 attorneys participating in the program.
