Experience

Marc Suskin is an associate in the Litigation Department of the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group. His practice focuses on international litigation and international arbitration. Examples of his experience include:

  • Acting as counsel for international telecommunications company in LCIA arbitration involving option agreement and advising on secondary litigation arising out of share purchase agreement.
  • Representing construction joint venture in US federal court regarding dispute against state resulting from its breaches of build-operate-transfer agreement.
  • Advising pharmaceutical company in patent and licensing dispute before the ICDR under AAA rules.
  • Representing fiber and polymer company in US proceedings and ad hoc arbitration in Switzerland involving patent inventorship and confidentiality dispute.
  • Acting as counsel for construction company arising out of trade secrets dispute governed by UNCITRAL rules before the Singapore International Arbitration Center.
  • Acting as counsel for beverage company in connection with shareholder dispute before the Hong Kong national court.
  • Advising paper products manufacturer in connection with breaches of joint venture agreement under ICC rules.
  • Assisting in representation of airline systems designer in dispute with aircraft manufacturer under ICC Rules.
  • Representing airline in breach of contract dispute with subcontractor under ICC Rules;
  • Wrote US Supreme Court amicus brief on whether parties may expand scope of judicial review of arbitral awards beyond the grounds set out in the Federal Arbitration Act.  Hall Street Associates, L. L. C. v. Mattel, Inc.

Mr. Suskin's pro bono experience includes:

  • Acting as counsel in five US asylum cases.
  • Acting as legal advisor to criminal defendant in US federal court.
  • Assisting Holocaust survivors apply for reparations from Germany under the ZRBG program.

Mr. Suskin currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Young Arbitrators Forum, organized by the USCIB, the US national committee of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
