Melissa Chan is an associate in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins. Her practice focuses on litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chan served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Rudi M. Brewster in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, during the 2004-2005 term. She also was a legal intern at Washington Square Legal Services (Immigrant Rights Clinic, NYU Law) in New York where she briefed habeas corpus issues before the Federal District Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Chan spent a year at the City University of Hong Kong as a Princeton-in-Asia Teaching Fellow, where she taught university students in the English enhancement program. During law school she was an Article & Note Editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics.
