Experience

Simon Lightman is an associate in the London office, whose practice focuses primarily on technology, intellectual property and commercial law and includes advising clients on commercial transactions and multi-jurisdictional agreements. Mr. Lightman also has experience advising on commercial issues arising on corporate transactions and technology transactions.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Lightman trained at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP where he gained experience in the fields of information technology and intellectual property including secondments to the Wellcome Trust and a leading provider of technology solutions for the financial services industry.

Mr. Lightman also has experience working in the construction industry having worked before and during his engineering degree for Ove Arup & Partners.

Mr. Lightman's representative matters include:

  • Advising a major UK retail bank on the outsourcing of investment accounting services
  • Advising a major UK bank on the migration of customer account data from heritage platforms
  • Advising EMI on the outsourcing of its finance and accounting services off-site
  • Advising a major retailer on the outsourcing of its IT support and development functions
  • Providing advice on data protection and privacy issues.
