Scott Hodgkins

Scott Hodgkins is a partner in the Los Angeles office and is a member of the Corporate Department, where he has practiced since 1995. He is also currently serves as global co-chair of the firm's Public Company Representation practice . Mr. Hodgkins' practice focuses on securities and corporate governance matters for public companies, corporate finance matters for both issuers and underwriters, and includes public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities, as well as public and private merger and acquisition transactions. He has handled matters ranging from venture capital financings to billion-dollar merger transactions. Mr. Hodgkins represents publicly traded companies across a variety of industries including energy, real estate, gaming, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, wireless technology and consumer products industries, and in particular was recognized for his work with Real Estate Investment Trusts in the 2008 Legal 500 US guide. Mr. Hodgkins is listed in the 2010 Best Lawyers in America survey in the Securities Law category.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hodgkins was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. While practicing as a Certified Public Accountant, his practice included both audit and tax experience, focusing principally on corporate tax matters including mergers, acquisitions and consolidated reporting issues. Mr. Hodgkins' industry experience while in public accounting included the healthcare, insurance, manufacturing and retail.
