Joseph Kronsnoble is a tax partner in the Chicago office and has practiced law with the firm since 1991. Mr. Kronsnoble represents public and privately owned companies and buy-out firms in connection with tax-free and taxable mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and spin-offs and other divisive transactions. He also represents issuers and underwriters in stock and debt offerings, securitizations and other issuances of financial instruments. In addition, Mr. Kronsnoble advises debtors and creditors in bankruptcy reorganizations and debt restructurings outside of bankruptcy.
Mr. Kronsnoble has represented clients in obtaining private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service. He also represents taxpayers in audit and controversy matters with the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities.
Mr. Kronsnoble is a member of the Federal Tax Institute Planning Committee. He has written articles for various legal and financial publications, and has spoken to TEI and other groups on tax-related topics. In the 2008 and 2009 Legal 500 US guides, Mr. Kronsnoble was recognized for his tax work and in the June 1, 2009 issue of Turnarounds & Workouts, Mr. Kronsnoble was named as one of the "Bankruptcy Tax Specialists in the Nation's Major Law Firms."
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Kronsnoble practiced for two years as an accountant with Price Waterhouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has also been licensed as a certified public accountant in Illinois and a certified financial planner.
Mr. Kronsnoble is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois.
